# DeepSeek models via U9

## Compatibility and prerequisites

This guide prepares DeepSeek integration with U9 AI. You need an active U9 key, sufficient credit and an available model matching the endpoint. Official documentation was checked on 2026-10-24; this is not an end-to-end test of every client version or upstream model.

## Setup steps

1. Find an available DeepSeek model in your U9 inventory. If none is enabled, request access rather than guessing an official model ID.
2. For U9 routing, use your U9 key and U9 base URL, not a DeepSeek platform key.
3. Use a custom OpenAI-compatible client such as Cherry Studio or Chatbox, or the HTTP example below.
4. Replace the model placeholder with its actual U9 ID. Test plain text first, then reasoning, streaming and tools according to that model contract.

## Configuration values

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Base URL | https://u9ai.ai/v1 |
| API Key | YOUR_U9AI_API_KEY · U9 API key |
| Model | YOUR_DEEPSEEK_MODEL_ID · Available model ID |
| Expected chat endpoint | https://u9ai.ai/v1/chat/completions |

```bash
curl --fail-with-body -sS "https://u9ai.ai/v1/chat/completions" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $U9AI_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"model":"YOUR_DEEPSEEK_MODEL_ID","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"Hello"}],"stream":false}'
```

## Important differences

This guide calls a DeepSeek model through U9; it does not replace the backend of DeepSeek’s official app or website. An app without a custom endpoint setting cannot be redirected by importing Markdown. Official subscriptions and balances are separate. Verify reasoning and search features independently.

## Acceptance and handoff

First follow [quickstart](/en/docs/quickstart) to check GET /v1/models without generating content. Then test a short non-streaming request, streaming and any required tool-call round trip separately. Generation tests may incur charges. Record the request ID and verify [cost analysis](/en/docs/billing). For failures, include client version, model ID, endpoint, status and sanitized errors in a [ticket](/en/support). Do not blindly resubmit timed-out jobs.

Give this Markdown file to your developer or agent. Ask it to preserve current settings, substitute only available model IDs and report untested capabilities. Never put real keys in shared Markdown.
